Great place to work but lots of favortism - Technician Procter & Gamble Employee Review

Pros

P&G offers a great compensation package and wonderful benefits. It's got a great team atmosphere and the internal training program is top-notch. Time off is fairly easy to get and management tends to be very understanding regarding family issues. If you're not looking to move up in the company, being an hourly employee is very satisfying. It's somewhere you can easily retire from and live comfortably.

Cons

It's quite difficult for non-management employees to move up in the company. Favortism is common-place and quite often people with the right skill set are passed over for 'one of the good ole boys (or women) to move forward. Decisions are often made without consulting the people involved and this results in animosity between management and employees.

Pros

Many intelligent people who are experts in their fields who are willing to help and provide advice (if they have time). Decent benefits and pay.

Cons

I mentioned time because many people are stretched and overworked. Work life balance is pretty bad and shows no signs of improvement. A lot of this can be attributed to near useless management. Every project is treated as absolute maximum priority but can still be dropped at a moment's notice. Work processes are horribly cumbersome and slow. Even small changes require many approvals but there are endless demands to "move faster".
