Pros

Easy-ish life compared to other tech start ups. The brand still holds respect - for now. There used to be some amazing people here, sadly lots are no longer with us. Some of the people holding leadership positions are egotists and inadequate, that said the new sales leadership hires are very good. Some of the better leaders and technologists remain - for now at least. In a company that is currently dominated by the CFO what's needed is strong leadership to temper his plans because so far he's killed the product, brand and morale. Andre is an amazing guy. Can't help but think his forte is from inception until he point of 'letting go' then he mishandles that part epically.

Cons

The company is no longer technology led. We used to have the de facto best choice in the market for Federated SSO. Truth is, we took on a new board of senior execs that killed the values and goals that came from the top down via Andre in exchange for the pursuit of IPO. The start of this was when the board wiped out 20% of staff and handled the change badly with exceptionally poor communication internally and fostered a climate of fear. This was exacerbated by retaining certain board 'favourites' in leadership positions due to their long tenure that frankly they were inadequate to hold. The focus since has been on cost cutting and more for less in an effort to meet the bottom line numbers the investors want to see. In doing so the company has lost the two things that set it apart.... The product and features that separated it from the challengers and the staff who cared as much about the customers as they did the product. In the meanwhile Okta and Centrify continued doing what we should have been doing - improving the solution and loving our customers. The result - they've overtaken us on both counts.

Pros

The culture statements are backed up with actions. It really is a great place to work. I should know, I was here, left, and now I came back to work for Ping a second time.

Cons

There really aren't any. Are there bad days at Ping? Sure... but they're out weighed by the good ones many times over. It's not perfect but the people who work here mean well and are generally very cool. So we figure out the solutions to the challenges together.

Pros

- Challenging work (largely due to poorly designed products) - Decent work/life balance

Cons

Leadership and culture. I was an IC and I had next to no trust in any leader in the organization, they were begrudgingly transparent (had to be forced to keep a pre-acqusition anonymous AMA). Very little overall direction within engineering org. Private equity strangling a once good company. Company with many remote workers hasn't had ANY in-person events in 3+ years. Retaining and acquiring customers being put ahead of anything else, this has resulted in WAY more overselling of the product than usual. This then falls at the feet of engineering to figure out how to make things work and is not a great position to be in. Beginnings of a blame culture around churning of customers, the company also apparently has now tied customer churn to some people's salary. So if a customer doesn't renew for a reason outside their control, they still lose compensation.
