Pros
I think your enjoyment with this company comes entirely from the local team you work with. My team is GREAT - For our size, we're a very high performing station in the company and the best in our market. The sales department has its hiccups but works really well together when it matters most. If you're aiming for career growth you need to be strategic with what position you start in. Pay sucks at first but you get an annual raise and I've gotten multiple performance raises (I've worked here for 5 years and I'm making almost 13k more than when I started). Work life balance totally depends on your job.
- Health insurance
- Great (specialized) experience
- Local station recognition
- Pretty stable employment (in the sales department, at least)
Cons
- Layoffs in other departments
- Corporate decisions make work much harder fort he people these decisions affect
- Acquisition of Tegna
- PTO policy could really use a change (especially for Holidays)
