Pros
I left following 43 years in industry. Great colleagues. Well supported pension. Very interesting and complex industry with amazing history and vast engineering assets.
Cons
In the last four years the company has become exceptionally inefficient, bureaucratic and managed at a senior level by inexperienced people who are totally out of their depth. These guys are backed by politicians who are equally inept & clueless. Eventually the industry will be bought to it's knees by these people & it's probably not far off. If you want to work here make sure its a back office job. If you are in a front line job with your head above the parapet you could well be taken down. Forcing people on to permanent nights, affecting their physical and mental health. They are addressing one problem whilst creating another bigger one! Clever people who have never done the job but act like they have & they know best.
