Management do not believe in sharing the success. Salaries are average to below-average in industry. Benefits are just on-par if not worse, and getting stingier. ESPP is symbolic. Reduction in pension plan benefit recently. And Bonus ? --what is that? If you are VP and above you might be rewarded handsomely for company's stellar performance over last 2-3 years but for normal engineers company has not paid bonus for last 3 years and after industry beating financial year where profit doubled and revenue grew tremendously and company is targeting further growth, again there is no sign of bonus. Buy stocks if you like NXP, don't come and work here as long as you have other comparably size company to work for. You will be better off financially. All management cares for here is stock value, not for employees!
