Pros
Ownership of tasks given You will learn to handle pressure Opportunities to present your work to higher management Good Relocation amount at time of joining Flexible work hours - no swipe in and out and minimum hrs to complete(though amount of work will ensure you clock in 9+ hrs easily) Unlimited sick leaves(Provided you show proof) Good opportunities to volunteer for philanthropic ventures of the firm
Cons
No Job security(Though no one was laid off in 2020 due to covid). WFH - before covid times was frowned upon and was tracked. No work life balance. If working on a critical project, forget weekends and India holidays. No overtime and comp-off for scheduled work on weekends. Consultants are treated better in this aspect. Policy of paying for work on mandatory holidays(15th Aug etc.) is just on paper. Some US counterparts treat MSAS as vendor. Appraisal/bonus can be in the hands of India director who will not have any visibility of the work you did. Excellent for Grads. Most Grads become VP in 7 years. For laterals, it will be 12+ yrs to become VP.
