Pros

- Fair compensation. - Radical transparency. Working in public gets takes some getting used to, but is a great model for remote teams. - Company is truly built out of love for games and gaming communities.

Cons

- At times, too many resources are devoted to product design at the expense of actual development. - Goals can be unrealistic given market and economic conditions.

Pros

- Great and transparent culture - Leadership team genuinely cares about the people, even amidst things like layoffs - Ambitious goals, I'm not sure that we'll accomplish them, but if we do, we'd change the entire industry. - Funny. The company brings out the best in everyone's sense of humor. All Hands meetings feel productive but also entertaining as hell. - Fully remote, with very flexible hours. Work when you're most productive!

Cons

- Not one, but two sets of layoffs in the last couple months. Leadership was open and transparent about the reasoning, and ensuring it doesn't happen again - but there's always some fear in this market. - The job itself can be pretty demanding. Good for me, but not everyone wants to put in what is required to hit the bar set by a team of high performers.

Pros

Extremely deep-networked founding team bringing expert knowledge from all avenues of technology (consumer social, consumer software, design consulting, massive marketplaces, gig economy, creator platforms). Work culture is excellent - everyone wears their emotions on their sleeve, is willing to go to war for you; there is a real sense of everyone being on the same page in wanting to win the space. Would explore much further if you are looking to make waves in the esports space, build a multimillion dollar company in public, and banter is one of your top 5 languages you are fluent in.

Cons

After-lunch to end-of-day is quiet focus time for everyone and - trust me - if you are not working your butt off, it will not be fun. Design + dev ticket requirements easily 3-4x the requests of what I've seen elsewhere, and builds need to pass an extremely tight QA affordance. Product is one of the company's biggest levers and if you are not ready to continuously execute excellence + have an obsession for always swinging so that the fences are table stakes no matter what the ask is, it will be tough. Esports is also a scene that is continuously on and scrutinized mercilessly on socials: One misstep and a good chunk of people on Twitter will know + have acidic things to say. No place / capacity to cruise - come to win.
