Pros
Above average salary for graduate hires Some managers can be a great mentor
Cons
If you are mentored by other than your lead, your current lead becomes jealous and insecure. They would hit you with "I'm your lead and not them." I was also called "boastful" by one of the leads just because I presented some of my wins to senior leadership. Let me also paint a picture here as there is a string of concerns. Management sucks - they play favorites, specially my pillar lead, they over-extort some employees, and use the team's contribution as braging rights (which they have nothing to do or not an inch of help was given). I came to a point that we have a lot of voluntary resignation to the team. These resignations caused a wide spread BCP program to allocate team members, rather than getting volunteers they made us rotate shift EVERY 6 months. So every 6 months team members would need to adjust their eat, sleep, workset up, team members that you need to get along with, and most importantly (atleast for me that is) family set up. It's not easy as they market it to be to re-arrage your whole family dynamics because managment can't maintain and lessen resignations. Imagine a lead that has 15 to 30% attrition rate is still around while someone that has failed coaching (due to multiple reasons) are being PIP and terminated. Lastly, I don't feel they value a person's well being that much. On the surface they do but it only comes to the majority as only 'words'. No flexibility what so ever.
