MITRE has incredible people with amazing talents. Employees solve challenging problems, and assist Federal Government agencies with developing technical requirements, engineering expertise, and source selections to assist government procurements.
Cons
While MITRE is setup as a non-profit company, unfortunately the good leaders can't overcome cavalier VPs who only want to hear favorable news and focus on Revenue Growth at all costs--even at the expense of long term good employee talent. The CEO recently tells employees to avoid overhead travel to save costs in current environment, which is understandable. Then MITRE executives jet across country to host an "exclusive" MITRE St Patrick's Day Function at the NVIDIA GTC Conference in San Diego. The company tells the government it is a good steward of tax money, but hosts lavish executive overnight retreats at five star The Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Vrginia. Strangely, the company erased the VP of Diversity from the public website. Hopefully core people values will not be erased.
