ZERO management and ZERO support.
I was initially hired by a new group lead, who left after 4 months.
I was constantly micro-managed, and given no help.
While being micro-managed, I was told "you're a level 3, which means you should be able to figure it out".
I came into Mitre with very little experience in government, or security, and was promised training and education.
I was given absolutely zero training or information, beyond a couple manuals to read.
I was told multiple conflicting things by multiple people.
It took me 4 months to understand my role in the organization.
When finally meeting my department head, I voiced my concerns, and was told "sounds like an opportunity". Thanks for that.
The whole organization seems like complete chaos, but somehow keeps rolling despite its glaring issues.
We've lost one person per month to turnover.
There's a greater workload now because no one new has been hired in 6 months.
It's a struggle to figure out how things work, even if you're using a product that Mitre ITSELF has developed, good luck figuring out who made it and how to use it.
You may work with people who were promoted into technical tracks, but only got there because they had worked at Mitre for 30 years as an office admin.
I've lost skills, time, patience, hair and sleep at Mitre. It was the worst career move I've made.
Plus retirement benefits don't kick in until after a year working here, and if you're sick, enjoy using your PTO for it.
