Pros
- some of the best people I had the chance to work with - multicultural and inclusive colleagues - reasonably healthy software stack - testing of the latest Mercedes cars - nice offices - mostly ok work life balance
Cons
- lack of backbone in current management - a lot of pressure coming from Mercedes HQ in Stuttgart - HR does hiring and firing, not much in terms of people or culture development - not hiring and investing in junior staff - now often outsourcing and the whole idea of MBition when it started was to stop with that - developers are often included in escalation meetings - a lot of meetings - having an agile coach and product owner doesn't make a team agile, for that you need to make small changes and constantly improve processes - product owners often think they are managers (not much knowledge of agile) - almost impossible to get required equipment due to procurement (test rigs, servers, accessories) - not many learning / growth possibilities - slow career advancement - requires a lot of independent work - salaries are lower than average - a new hire at the same level will probably have 15% higher salary than an employee working for 3 years in the company
