      Lots of good with lots of bad - Engineer II Lumen Employee Review

      Pros

      Complete working freedom. I can work whatever hours I need/want to, unlimited flexibility and pretty good health benefits. Also, I feel as though they are at least trying to maintain a spot in the telecom/technology space.

      Cons

      Wages have been almost frozen for many years now. Haven't seen a 3% raise in over 10 years and the bonuses keep shrinking because they company doesn't make any money. The amount of money spent on duplicate internal products is astounding. So much waste. Also, due in large part to the union, whenever something needs to be changed, it's like trying to steer an aircraft carrier. Too many people have been there for too long to incorporate any new ideas.

      Pros

      work life balance, excellent time off so long as manager doesn’t micromanage/track and limit FTO, nice people, leadership has turned the business around.

      Cons

      No pay raises even with great performance review (5years with zero raise) No career growth/progression - been on a high-performing team for 5 years and not one person on the team has been progressed or promoted during that time. Little opportunity for career advancement and growth New jobs within the company are going to external hires, not much grwoth for current employees
