Pros

It is slightly better than indentured servitude. If you work for long enough you may be promoted to full time and recieve some benefits.

Cons

Flex pool - you will have work while there are projects for you, if there arent projects for you, you get to sit at home and collect un-employment until another project comes in. You will probably be spending half of your employment here collecting unemployment and waiting for contracts to come in. Management treats the employees poorly and tend to lead people on with promises of promotions. You may get laid off the same week your boss drives a brand new corvette to work, then they will re-hire you for a lot less than you were making before. No on-site HR, and you will be lucky if anyone actually knows who to talk to if they forget to pay you. There are a lot of problems with people getting paid on-time or sometimes even at all. There have been many cases where people were sent home for extended amounts of time (a month or more) then called back in to work, and when payday comes they find that they are "no longer in the system" and cannot collect un-employment or get their paycheck till the are "put back in the system". You will probably wind up working as a test lead at some point but not actually getting a pay increase, though you will have all the responsibilities of this. This could go on for as long as 3 years with no raises or compensation.

Pros

Supportive Leadership: The management team is approachable and genuinely invested in employee success, providing guidance and mentorship to help you reach your full potential. Career Development: There are numerous opportunities for professional growth, including training programs, workshops, and access to industry conferences, ensuring you continually advance your skills. If your current position is not working out for you there may be opportunities to join a different team and expand your skill set. Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling options and remote work opportunities allow for a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. Recognition and Rewards: Employees are regularly acknowledged for their hard work and achievements, both through formal recognition programs and informal appreciation. Even if it is just a call out on a team meeting, it shows your hard work is not going unnoticed.

Cons

Rapid Changes: The company's dynamic nature means frequent shifts in priorities or objectives, which may be challenging for those who prefer stability. Resource Constraints: Occasionally, there might be limited resources which can impact the ability to execute projects efficiently. Communication Gaps: In a large organization, there can be occasional breakdowns in communication between departments, leading to misunderstandings or delays. Onboarding Process: The initial onboarding process might benefit from more structure or support to help new employees acclimate quickly.

Pros

It has been very cool seeing the company evolve with the new AI and LLM Technologies. Going from a complex language services company to an AI-first complete content and AI Data Services company has opened many new doors. Lionbridge also focuses on promoting internal candidates first, giving us all the chance to strive for openings internally to grow our careers. I've been promoted multiple times in my 5+ years. We're surrounded by very intelligent and good people, and it's interesting solving new-world problems together as a global team. We're constantly working with team members and customers from all over the world, and get the chance to learn about the various personal and business cultures of so many.

Cons

No real Cons. It's not an easy industry to be in these days with things changing at this rapid a pace, but we keep up well. Never a dull moment, and never a new challenge around each corner, but a great team to always work it out with.
