Pros
Upper management is responsible, avoided the sub-prime fiasco that many in the financial sector fell for. The company made a fair effort to be equitable to the employees of the companies they acquired. Offers a defined benefit pension. Stable company.
Cons
Large corporate environment. Slow and formal. Many managers seem old-world and the "old-boy" network is evident. The ability to select and promote the right people is not the best, nor is decision making a the lower levels. Managers do not view their employees as assets and nor provide opportunities for all.
