Pros
Over the past couple of years, I’ve had the chance to grow into a management role within project accounting. Starting out, I didn’t come from a strong real estate background, so there was a lot to learn. Handling draw package, budgets, lender reporting, and financial tracking for different projects really helped me build my knowledge and confidence over time. One thing I learned here is that growth does not happen automatically. You have to stay consistent, put in the effort, and be willing to take on work that may feel outside your comfort zone. There were many situations where I had to learn quickly, stay focused under pressure, and take on responsibilities I had never handled before. Being open to feedback and willing to learn made a big difference in my growth. Leadership also played a huge role in my journey, especially the CFO. Her guidance, strategic thinking, and support pushed me to grow professionally and think beyond just the day to day tasks. Even during challenging situations, there was always support and direction when needed. The culture here is very collaborative and fast paced. Expectations are high, but hard work is recognized. It’s definitely an environment where you grow by experience. If you are willing to stay focused, keep learning, and put in the extra effort, there are real opportunities to move forward and grow into bigger roles.
Cons
High expectations and tight timelines can sometimes create pressure.
