Pros
Kiva is full of enthusiastic, smart, mission-driven people. Impact really is at the center of everything Kiva does. It's a great place to work in tech while contributing to a larger mission. There's a good blend of folks who have been at Kiva for years and new people bringing in fresh perspectives. Work-life balance is also good and flexible. People take the time off to recharge.
Cons
- Kiva straddles the uncomfortable line between tech company and non-profit. It's uncomfortable because there is an expectation that we build a robust product with a fraction of the resources. - Career growth opportunities are very sparse. The organization is very flat and there are no formal growth ladders set in place. - Senior leadership has seen a lot of turnover in the past year which has created instability and re-orgs.
