Pros

Working at JPMC can be good and can be bad. I've never had mixed thoughts about an employer before. Usually it's good or bad, but this one appears to capture a bit of both. Pros: it's a humongous international corporation which is represented in over 60 countries. You have great opportunity to develop your career internationally. You work with great people that become your friends. There are truly amazing understanding and supporting people. It is a pleasure to come to work every day. Compensation and benefits are great. Compensation alone is better than that at many other large financial institutions; however this may vary by position. They have an array of health insurance options to choose from - all are quite attractive. Offices are modern and top notch; however not for everyone - see cons. The organization is very diverse. You'll encounter many different people of all kinds of backgrounds and stances. Really cool.

Cons

Cons: Depending on your position, hours can be long and frustrating. A lot of it will depend on tech issues. For some positions, work can be delayed by 2-4 hours or even longer. You will end up sitting around doing nothing because you won't be able to perform your duties. As mentioned above, offices are modern and top notch, but for me, there just isn't enough privacy. No cubicles. Instead, they have what they call "high performance work stations". Those are small desks with a computer and two screens at each. Every one of those got a camera. Chances are you're always on camera - meetings happen quite often. So it's leaving you with almost zero privacy. No picking nose while running queries. The organization is very bureaucratic. You will need approval for everything. Even if you have access to any platform, you will not be able to perform certain operations there. These will require individual requests to be approved by tech people located all over the place. May take weeks to get proper access privileges. Their return to office policy is inflexible and pretty weird. You can't work from home the same days week to week. Instead you must alternate one or both of these days. They didn't specify why only Mondays and Fridays can't be WFH. It's incredibly inconvenient to keep track of both for you and your supervisor.

Pros

I loved working at Chase in Home Equity and First Mortgage. Decent pay, decent managers that were supportive.

Cons

The business credit card department is an absolute nightmare - avoid! We got moved around due to housing market changes. Understandable but they also made it seem like it was going to be the best thing that could happen to us. Told us we wouldn’t be answering calls and then it was full blown call center. It was the literal worst. Most unorganized, unsupportive, dumpster fire of a department.
