Pros

Free food and good pay

Cons

Although the company loves touting diversity and inclusion as a value, the reality is that Indigo is a white-washed boys club. Leadership is very clearly out of touch with the people who work in R&D on the product pipeline. Beginning with the February 2020 layoffs and continuing to the present day the company is consistently dishonest with its employees and constantly communicates in the poorest manner possible. In the last year, many of the best scientists at the company have been leaving because of the lack of support from leadership and the poor outlook of the company as a whole. Positions of those who leave from R&D are very rarely replaced. Most often responsibilities are simply passed on to the team members that remain with no compensation adjustments. The COVID-19 pandemic has been handled poorly. HR did not think to have a discussion on safety with employees remaining in office until over six months into the pandemic. Although fifty employees come into the office daily it is often repeated that there is "no one in the office." No consistent COVID testing for employees, no hazard pay, only a communal box of paper masks set out for anyone to grab. Leadership is extremely quick to make changes to benefits and bonuses. Be wary that the bonuses you are promised might not be what you actually end up receiving.

Pros

Decent base salaries. Due to the company's structure and goal shifting, you get experience in a lot of different aspects of the company. Past non-negotiable goal milestones, there is some flexibility, you have the opportunity and freedom to make the job your own. Good work-life balance, and commendable company goals around sustainable ag etc. made working here stand out.

Cons

Raises and bonuses not given for several years due to company not reaching unattainable goals. Lots of turnaround from constant layoffs. During my time there, I had a new manager about every year. No clear goals, and when they are clear they constantly shift. It is hard to grow salary wise within the company, especially when money is tight. You will be able to get more responsibilities and learn new skills, but don't expect your pay to reflect this. Lots of financial mismanagement within the company causing current R&D funding and operations to be barely present.
