Pros

Aerospace software engineering is your passion. You like being pulled in 20 directions at once because that's the only way to ensure your job won't be outsourced.

Cons

Difficult to get up to speed on projects. All knowledge is 'tribal' based. Documentation and cooperation is poor even though they try to cram Six Sigma down your throat. Many bottlenecks in process as critcal employees take on more responsibility than they can handle in an effort to obtain job security. C-level management comes up with directives that everyone knows are doomed; so departments scramble in an awkward corporate game of 'hot potato' to see who the blame will fall on when things blow up.

Pros

The team is great and people are excited to have you there. You are given value-added work and projects week 1. There are a lot of other interns at both the graduate and undergraduate level so there is a strong sense of intern community and support. If you have to relocate for the internship, complete housing is provided (they find you an apartment and pay for everything - results on the apartment itself may vary but are generally close to the office).

Cons

Varying start dates led to varying first day experience. The onboarding day for those who had it day 1 was great, but some interns got it after their first week and had little direction day 1.
