Pros

Hybrid Model of 2 Days a Week in Office RRSP Match by Employer

Cons

Top-down management style where decisions are made with no inputs from workers. Worst part is the engineering management does not come from an engineering background. Not able to speak to management as they are busy with meetings, and they themselves do not show up at the office during work from office days. Little ability to move within the company as knowledge is very specialized. If you are a technical specialist, there is little to no chance your manager will let you move elsewhere. All training is on the job. Mainly self-study.

Pros

Nice location near downtown and Southside. Half the building has a view of the river. Benefits are competitive (medical, dental, vision). Free garage parking across the street.

Cons

The employee perks have continuously declined over time. They used to have a nice catered Christmas party that disappeared during the pandemic and never returned. They used to have a common sense policy for meals while traveling, but that was just replaced with limits for each meal that are inadequate if you are traveling to a major city. They are also starting to track how many days each person comes to the office and seem to value that more than the results produced by each person. The company also does not reward people for going above and beyond, such as working significant overtime, working night shift at site, etc.
