Pros

The staff whom you work with in the office are friendly and will help anybody. Work tirelessly and care so much about the company.

Cons

If you are not close friends or family members to management or the owners, there is no point applying. For a company that ‘thrives on home grown talent and progression’ and is so ‘serious about mental health’ I must say I disagree and believe this to be false. You are constantly promised career progression but it never happens. No salary increases despite promises and going above and beyond, ending up overworked. Given amazing feedback and told 'we don't know what we would do without you', to then be made redundant at the drop of a hat. Frequent lay-offs and redundancies within the business meaning job insecurity for all. Managers lie about reasonings for people ‘leaving’ so they look better for it. Jobs are then advertised with a slightly different title to sidestep any legal issues. Constantly showcase the fact they are an amazing company and are so big on mental health! Yet when it comes to supporting the staff they can’t be bothered listening and just get rid of them instead to avoid any conflict. Maybe if the company stopped showing off to try and look good spending thousands on fish and chips, pizza’s, gifts, events and party’s etc, they may be able to afford to keep their good members of staff on and keep the business running. Whilst I believe it is great that the staff get treated, if they cannot even afford to keep on their staff, it is unfair to spend the amount they do on things which aren’t necessary. The company do little to prevent bullying in the workplace and their efforts to resolve are pathetic and minimalistic all with one aim, to avoid difficult situations with certain members of staff who feel they can get away with anything due to the weak management structure. No support offered to colleagues with mental health, the managers pretend to listen, then never follow up. Most of the time you can’t even speak to your manager as you either don’t have one due to staff turn-over, or they are too busy. Unrealistic deadlines and expectations, even when you reach these expectations you continue to get taken advantage of. You are expected to work over and through your dinner and get no gratitude or recompense for your additional effort. Would not recommend working here. Sounds great at first, but the benefits don’t last long and do not offset being taken advantage of and extremely inadequate pay.

Pros

Loved my residents, they made the terrible nightmare of being an Hsl employee worth it.

Cons

Downsides are that you are asked to violate fair housing when you know that you’re right and you’ve spoken to an attorney about it, but you were asked to violate for housing just to make the regionals look good and when you did and invoice your opinion, you get terminated
