Pros
The work is interesting. There are always challenging new problems to solve, technology to develop, and other stuff engineers live for.
Cons
GE benefits are bad and getting worse. Pension is gone. Vacation is gone. Medical insurance is poor with high deductible and out of pocket costs. The 60 year old plant in Salem is maintained barely well enough to keep rain off people's desks. No joke. The company treats the site like we are all factory workers, not engineering and technical.
