I worked at GE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Exceptional, brand new office with state of the art, modern technology. Open, friendly environment. General Manager, Joe Allen, is very personable, involved, and an incredible, caring leader. Wonderful working atmosphere. Great people and events.

    Cons

Matrix Management in some parts of the company, too heavy a workload due to being spread too thin.

I have been working at GE full-time

    Pros

The culture, people, global scale and opportunities (albeit reducing) are some of the best reasons to work at General Electric.

    Cons

The fatigue associated with 3+ years of huge change and uncertainty about the business and individuals' roles make up a big part of the downside of working at GE (but also can lead to new opportunities for those who persevere).

    Advice to Management

Get to where you're going with the Company as soon as possible. Continue to deliver transparency, support and respect to those impacted by change.

I worked at GE full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

city centre location, good holiday leave benefits, decent pension package, flexible work hours if job activity allows it

    Cons

long hours, progress depends very much on what type of boss you have rather than performance.
some managers are good at recognising and promoting their staff, some bosses are driven entirely by promoting themselves only
