Pros

Their name. The only real reason to work at Forever 21 is for resume experience. They are quickly becoming one of the top retailers from an outside perspective, despite their internal workings. There are a lot of good people working there too, even though many are unhappy.

Cons

Pay is miserable across all departments that I know of, and they will pressure you hard to overwork. Some people see as little as 3-4 days off per year and are expected to work off hours constantly under tightly monitored conditions. Cameras are everywhere and HR & IT watch everything that you do. Security will search your purse as you leave. They offer the minimum legal days off and use PTO, so your sick days are taken from the same pool as your vacation days which you don't get much of anyway. I am Korean American (it's a Korean owned company and most at HQ apart from designers are Korean as well). There are literally almost no managers in the company who aren't Korean and the Manager level meetings are held in Korean, so good luck making it to the top if you aren't. I can't say that this company represents my heritage well. I was asked to give my employees next to nothing in raises (even though they are severely underpaid compared to other similar industries) and to tell them that it was because our company was not profitable. This is despite the fact that we have been experiencing record growth and I know this based on expansion plans. I've been there for a little over a year and I am considered an old timer now. Almost everyone that I know, even at the higher levels apart from senior management, is looking for a new job. Other senior managers are brutal and I have heard of them taking legal action several times against their own employees. Typical manager attitude at the main office is to motivate with fear and warnings versus praise. I've seen more than one manager bring some of the other girls to tears.
