Pros
Ferguson offers such a wide variety of products, that you learn a great deal. They expect you to be the best in the industry, and offer trainings to help you get there. As a consultant, the commission pay is generous. You have tons of opportunities to meet, and work with the building industries’s finest suppliers.
Cons
Although, the pay is good, they offer no type of documentation demonstrating that you are being paid accurately or fairly. There is no limit to what you are expected to produce. Your goal is unreachable. With that comes no work life balance. The calls, & emails are round the clock, and unless you have an assistant, you must work at home to not drown. That is the norm, and management does nothing to help or change the round the clock hours. Speaking of management, there is a high turnover in that department, and with every manager comes new promises that are never kept. They like to tout promotions, but during my long stay there, I constantly witnessed the qualified being passed over for the BFF. I would say that it’s a great first job, but most people get stuck there. I have NEVER seen a company with such unhappy employees as Ferguson!!!
