Pros

The structured training of the series 7 and 66 is really solid. I learned a ton in the KYC class in St. Louis. My visiting vet was really good and down to earth about getting started at Edward Jones. A ton of resources in the field and on the computer. If you survive the first few years the rewards should be there.

Cons

Door knocking is very difficult to do eight hours a day. It is a mental grind. 25 contact a day I am finding is nearly impossible to accomplish. The structure falls off pretty quickly after the KYC class so be prepared to manage your time wisely. The pressure is there right from the start so you need to be ready to deal with it. Be prepared to work Saturdays door knocking.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
