Pros

I consistently felt supported by my immediate team. ERMers are some of the best people I have met. Flexible remote working is a game changer.

Cons

Theres some disconnect between what ERM wants to stand for versus reality. Stress / burnout feels inevitable due to 1) Having to meet unrealistic UB targets while training folks up and at times not having enough work due to market conditions or 2) Underselling projects just to make sales makes people underbill and therefore must work unpaid overtime if they want to meet targets. Also often times junior staffers who are truly providing the most value for this company are not being promoted or given raises when deserved, causing them to leave or feel underappreciated with causes high turnover and low morale. This does not align with ERMs health and wellness values. Also I understand that we need to use AI to keep up with competitors, but this feels like there's too much focus on short term profit. What about our integrity as a sustainability consultancy? The idea that its helping us make a positive impact since it's helping our clients doesn't feel right, given a lot of our work is about risk mitigation rather than making a positive impact. As a sustainability consultancy all of this feels very hypocritical. During times like these it feels like we are opening ourselves up to potential reputational risk that could harm the company financially if left unchecked.

Pros

Cool projects. Diversity of work

Cons

Basically every 15 minutes need to be billed to a client. If not you will be penalized even if they say you’re doing great.
