Pros
Learn new things, particularly as a former computer technician working on the KnowHow bar. It also looked pretty darn good on the CV.
Cons
High targets - Was targeted at £50 a day, but then had to sell broadband on top of that. This was tricky as I worked on customer service. Slow tills - Eclipse is absurdly slow, old software on them including an old version of OpenOffice and Internet Explorer. Fortunately they use Windows 7 now. Low salary - Was paid around minimum wage, high salaries belonged to those lucky enough to be on the older contract. Salary was roughly £50 a day at the time so you earned your money back. Highly competitive - The pressure for high targets and the easily available scoreboards lead to occasional in-department infighting. The place felt like a Japanese high school in terms of competitiveness.
