Pros

Corporate owned which meant better wages and consistent expectations Employee discount on hotel stays (depending on the day of the week or the season of travel it can range from almost no discount at all to staying downtown Atlanta for $17/night!!!) Discounts on Marriott hotel restaurants Discounts on partner companies Managers were flexible with scheduling, sometimes even covering a shift for you themselves!! They also had the ability to have other corporate Marriott locations send their employees to cover a shift EASY to move up!! Just explain an interest in wanting to do more than what you were hired for and the managers WILL listen. I’ve seen this consistently through all Marriott locations!! You can work your way from front desk to management within a year Whenever the hotel sold out for the night, each front desk worker from that day received a bonus. The higher the price of the room that night, the higher the bonus! Bonuses for recommending a new employee Bonuses if your name is mentioned positively in a customer survey Marriott FIRMLY believes that treating your employees well will lead to employees treating guests well... and it worked. I felt valued by the company therefore it was easy for me to value guests

Cons

Unfortunately my location had high turnover rate which left most of the employees overworked- which lead to more turnover... and the managers were so busy trying to keep the place together they lacked the time to train each person as well as they wanted to

Pros

The guests were always lovely, and made the job fulfilling.

Cons

Management was awful, no support from them. Favoritism, enabling one person something but not the other. No structure; expectations and rules change by the day. Upper management turns a blind eye to misconduct and abuse of all forms. No loyalty from the company to its employees. Wage theft, illegal time clock adjustments, sexual harrassment from superiors, hostile work environment, all condoned by upper management.
