Pros

Depending on the size and popularity of the store, you may be looking at almost full time hours at a pretty good rate of pay. For me, I was paid $13 an hour just because I asked for it and that I have previous knowledge of their competitor, Michael Kors. Also there is a Team-Share Goal on top of your Weekly Goal. It sort of takes the place of "commission" and if your entire STORE (not you individually) makes this goal, you get a bonus which at my rate of pay and position, Sales PT3 (Entry Level Sales), I got up to $200 extra a month. Mind you, there is NO COMMISSION paid to you at all, you don't make a percentage of what you sell. Everyone keeps asking me if I make commission, and I do not know who is misinforming them.

Cons

During slow seasons and months, your hours will drop dramatically. There were times where it was so slow, that both Sales AND Stock only had two working days a month, while the rest is On-Call hours. At a certain point, I had the 4th consecutive week in a row being scheduled ALL On-Call hours, at that point my rate of pay looked more like a illusion than something that I can rely on. If you get scheduled On-Call on your online schedule (you get a internet login to check it out), its mostly likely that after you call them, they wouldn't need you for the day. Unless somehow that somebody else got sick, or a ton of customers swarmed the store, you can usually count on not getting called in to work the day. Now remember, Coach doesn't hire just ANYONE off the streets. You need to be familiar and hopefully have previous sales experience, otherwise they won't take you seriously. Also, knowledge of the Chinese language (Mandarin) can get your foot in the door quickly. They are looking for people that know how to "Jet-Set", and can consistently make their goals every week depending on the store. Some places in Vegas, broken down by the month, is about $5000 to $10,000 a month. In places with heavier traffic, you are looking at metrics that are $20,000 starting, and maybe beyond $100,000 in a month. This is easier said than done, and you need to change your composure, wordage, and attitude if you come from a more "laid-back" atmosphere like the Outlet Malls or a Hot Topic Store. You will buy your own uniforms (currently it changed from black-and-white to a Navy Blue, White, and Mahogany outfit), shave frequently, and this all comes out of your own pocket.

Pros

- fast paced days with lots of client interaction and team building moments - fun product dropped monthly with opportunities to be the first to own popular drops - opportunities to grow* - a great starting place to learn how to provide an elevated shopping experience and learn how to build a client book

Cons

- * Opportunities to grow only present themselves if you have a positive relationship with the management team and/or the DM - Corporate tends to lead on candidates and promise advancements or change verbally but little is done to correct behavior or advance within the company - Your store manager will determine whether the team is harmonious and fair, can be a double edged sword - you will be asked to do tasks or take on projects outside of your position with no additional compensation. It will be heavily frowned upon to decline said opportunities and tended to lead to being denied advancements - during ICE activities in the city, Coach refused to make a statement and or provide guidelines to how we as a store should respond. Associates were punished for absences related back to ICE activities
