Pros

People were kind and the company provided great benefits.

Cons

Very disorganized and stressful. Cared more about networking than the actual impact. I've worked in private companies that had tighter budgets. So much money was spent on employees' conferences, all-inclusive retreats, and all-staff travel.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and concerns. We strive to create a positive and impactful work environment, so we're pleased to hear that you found our team kind and appreciated the benefits we offer. With respect to organizational structure and priorities, please know that we are committed to being good stewards of the funds we receive. In 2023, over 96% of our funds went toward grants awarded and program activities, ensuring that the majority of our resources directly support our mission to end the climate crisis. Additionally, we’re advancing several initiatives in response to feedback from our staff to improve internal processes, further enhance efficiency, and support employee well-being. We believe that fostering strong connections and collaborative environments is essential for driving meaningful progress, both within ClimateWorks Foundation and the broader community of funders and implementing partners we work with to advance global climate action. Respectfully, Negar Naraghi Sr. Director, HR

Pros

* Amazing benefits * Org is making a difference in the world * Tons of people have been here for years, not a lot of turnover * Travel 2x a year to San Francisco or nearby area for all staff retreats and in town week. It's a fun group of people to be with! * In my position there is a good work life balance. I'm not working extra hours and can take PTO easily. People feel comfortable taking time to go to doctors appointments during the day. * room for growth - I got a promotion and have had the opportunity to take a few classes on new skills *diverse employees, culture is welcoming

Cons

* Change happens slowly *Hard to know who the decision maker is on something, people aren't empowered to make decisions. It's hard to reach consensus.

Overall, great organization to work.

Cons

They grew a lot in a short period of time and struggled with how to adapt, communicate, and manage the growth. Management was chaotic and unsupportive.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience working at ClimateWorks Foundation. We’re glad to hear you find the organization to be a great place to work overall–that means a lot. We also appreciate your feedback about the challenges that have accompanied our growth. You’re right that we’ve grown significantly in recent years as we’ve expanded the reach of our efforts. While this growth reflects the urgency of the climate crisis and increased philanthropic engagement, we recognize that it has at times affected the employee experience. Your comments underscore the importance of the work we’ve already begun to strengthen our systems, invest in staff development, and improve internal communications. We remain committed to building a supportive workplace that reflects our values and mission. Thank you again for your feedback and for your contributions to our team.
