Interview
The interview process was rushed, required a skilled time test, and the group interview did not follow best practices. For example, 80% of questions were multiple parts, often asking 3-4 prompts within 1 question. That sets up your candidate for failure and makes the meeting run over time, not allowing candidate time to ask questions.

Question 1
The following was framed as ONE question:
What specifically draws you to this role versus similar roles? What skills or experiences are you hoping to deepen here? Where do you see yourself in 3-5 years, and how does this role help you get there? What would success in this role unlock for you professionally?
The initial round was a phone screen with a recruiter. The second round was a panel of 3-4 others. By definition, panel interviews are awkward, but everyone was kind and seemed passionate about hiring the right individual. The process was slow overall.

Interview
First-round interview was led by a junior-level employee that I would have been managing, who did not have great answers to my questions. I love the idea of being interviewed by future direct reports, but it was a mistake to have that person be the first-round screener. Second-round was with the hiring manager and future boss, and she opened with MY questions, rather than hers. I loved that it felt so conversational and informal, but I wish she had given me background and guided the conversation because honestly I didn't know what the job was even about.
