Pros
This is for marketing. i was here two years ago working with product marketing but also worked with the other departments. You can learn nearly everything you need to know: Salesforce, marketo, email marketing, landing pages, analytics. A lot of other companies don't have everything set up the way Check Point does. Once you've been at Check Point, you'll be prepared to enter into any other company's marketing department with ease and bring value that other companies don't have, for example if they don't have processes in place, you can bring over knowledge that you learned from Check Point
Cons
1. Low pay. Other companies in the bay give you up to 70% more. Dont stay here for more than a year, two is the absolute maximum. 2. Mediocrity. Lots of people here are skating by on mediocre talent due to low pay, so all the talented people leave. There are some talented people here though. Lots of older people here like an old folks home. Wheres the young fresh talent. 3. Somewhat toxic. Sometimes you’re left scratching your head while talking to people with half a brain, and ask yourself “do these people really exist? Or am i in an Office simulation?” A few people are rude but most people are nice. 4. Lack of vision/purpose. Company seems task-oriented, and leadership doesn’t have a long term vision that inspires confidence. 5. No coordination. Departments work in silos. Sales and marketing dont work together. 6. Not enough focus on the WHY. Why are we doing our projects - whats the goal? Come here to learn and bounce.
