Pros
Worked for Chanel for 9 months, with my experience I ended up walking into the job, though they say that its hard to get a job at Chanel. Be prepared for Gabrielle Chanel to become your new "god" (not a bad thing for me as I already highly admired Coco). Worked through MYER department store. Honestly being employed through MYER was my biggest issue with the job. - Saying "I work for Chanel" and have people says "Wow, I'm jealous" (a small pro) - Some free goods every quater, sometimes they were great (i.e a free bottle of L'eau) -Achievable incentives
Cons
- I was the only trained makeup artist at the store, yet they had other people with no makeup training doing makeovers/formal/bridal makeups?? Whaat?! -15% discount -mature aged environment -The product names are all french so can be really difficult (especially when customers ask for things with the wrong pronunciation of the word) -very strict -very strict dress code (not even plaits in hair etc.) -Barely any training on anything! -Other team members backstabbing/stealing your customers & sales -MYER management atrocious
