Pros

If you have your stars aligned right, you will meet some fantastic mentors here. I have stayed in touch with mine even post my stint here. I will always be thankful for their support and mentorship If you are a junior employee, its good to see if consulting is a fit for you for your future. I saw a racism comment somewhere, and I want to defend that there is no racism here. I am a person of color, and I can vouch for that. I have met the CEO of the company in the cafeteria and he was so good to chat with on a causal level as a junior employee. And this goes all the way to the facilities staff. So I'd definitely say NO racism here, its definitely not something on your face that you will have to be worried about

Cons

If you write from here to Pluto and back, the list still wont end. NOT a meritocracy. You will see this pattern, people post here on Glassdoor repeatedly, HR responds with a template response. Obviously, if a majority of people feel that, which is evident in the reviews here, then they should accept it but not refute it. If HR did not spend so much time on Glassdoor, maybe they'd fix real issues. Again NOT A meritocracy. Promotions are a JOKE. If you fawn around senior partners, you will get promoted. NO consideration of actual skills and competencies HR team is so full of ego and attitude. They really need a lesson in HR. Especially Resourcing Managers are the absolute worst. Have zero sense of project alignment. its first in first out policy for them I think this is my personal experience and may not apply to the firm, but I did have a manager who had a liking for a fellow team member and always praised him and asked me to work like him. When his only qualifications were being tall and muscular. We had the same feedback from the client but she put me down always. So I'd say there is a huge favoritism problem here which I do tie back to the meritocracy issue. Work is staff aug. RMs lie when interviewing. I was literally told on my third day that not everyone can get a good project, and we have limited strategy roles, They told me the exact opposite of this statement when interviewing, So a flat out white lie. Also I think some reviews are just written in by the HR to bump up their positive ratings as this is such a crazy high attrition firm.

Thank you for your positive feedback, particularly on the quality of our mentors and, even more importantly, our commitment to anti-racism which, as you stress, is led from the top of our firm and something we take very seriously. We care about the experience that our people have at Capco and work hard to foster a positive and inclusive culture. We appreciate the feedback we receive from both current and former employees and take this feedback seriously, as we continually look for ways to innovate and improve. Regarding promotions, candidates are nominated by their coaches/project managers based upon published promotion guidelines, including consistent demonstration of performance at the next level, and then assessed by a broader promotion committee to ensure a robust and fair process. Employees are encouraged to speak with their PMs/Coaches to review the promotion guidelines and assess readiness. If you believe that you should be considered for promotion, please raise this with your Coach/PM. If you are not promoted and think you should have been, please also engage in a discussion with your PM/coach to understand the rationale for the decision. We have a range of opportunities available in the firm and a range of projects. The resourcing process is a combined effort between the individuals looking for new roles and the resourcing team. Open roles are posted on the resourcing app. Employees are encouraged to view the open roles and apply. Ther resourcing team is also available to support mobility and alignment of project roles. Capco prides itself on being a meritocracy. Many contributors to this forum have commented on how this is a real and meaningful facet of Capco’s culture. We appreciate that this may not have been your experience and would be happy to speak with you to better understand your perspective.

Pros

Varied client work — Different clients and project types, which keeps things interesting. Real project mobility — You can move between projects when you advocate for yourself (within reason). Approachable leadership — Senior leaders are open to conversations if you reach out. Good development resources — Plenty of training and growth opportunities if you take advantage of them. Strong teams — Colleagues are smart, capable, and great to work with. Entrepreneurial environment — New ideas are encouraged, and there’s room to take initiative.

Cons

Long hours vary by project — Like most any professional job, some engagements require extended hours for prolonged periods, but work–life balance really depends on the client and team. Additional internal responsibilities — Depending on level, there can be a significant amount of firm‑support work outside of client delivery. Domain alignment not guaranteed — You may not always be staffed on projects that match your domain expertise. Coaching alignment constraints — Coaching relationships are tied to domain, which limits flexibility in choosing formal mentors. Long engagements (sometimes) — Some projects run for long durations or through multiple extensions. It can provides stability but may reduce variety in client and project experience depending on what you’re looking for.
