Toxic management and a lack of professional standards - Anonymous Employee Brook Health Employee Review

Pros

Strong relationships among the staff-level employees.

Cons

The management culture here is built on intimidation rather than leadership. There is a frequent 'bully' mentality where senior staff shift blame downward for their own errors. Instead of addressing root causes, leadership tends to react with hostility when things go wrong. The hiring process is also deeply flawed. There is a consistent pattern of hiring individuals for senior roles who lack the basic competencies required for the job. This creates a cycle where the few capable employees are forced to carry the workload of incompetent management while being criticized for it. It is a high-turnover environment because anyone with a strong professional standard eventually leaves to protect their sanity.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Newer Tech stack Nice People/Coworkers

Cons

Lack of solid direction from founders. As others have said, one of them pretends he can do all of the jobs in his sleep (he can't, and does not have the subject matter expertise). Others at the leadership level are condescending, unprofessional and uninformed. Fits and starts that are blamed on being a "start up" but are really the failure of lack of strategic planning, and sticking to an agreed upon direction. Too many layoffs in this company's history to be optimistic about their future sticking power.
