Pros

The benefits. Friendly coworkers. The kids. The random perks when they happened. Typically time was approved and generally somewhat flexible.

Cons

Mismanaged, no career growth opportunities, favoritism, and undervalued/appreciated, lack of social interaction, and no matter what they would always open - even in a blizzard.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We understand that the ECE field can be demanding and want all employees to feel supported in doing such important and meaningful work; initiatives that promote a sense of work/life balance and integration are so important as a way to show employees are valued as people, first and foremost. We are sorry to hear your personal experience has not been a good one. We also strive to help employees understand the nature of the role for which they are being hired as well as provide the tools needed to be successful through comprehensive training. If you are open to sharing more specifics of your concerns, we’d like to hear them and can be reached at wearelistening@brighthorizons.com.

Pros

Do hire a diverse population of teachers in terms of age, gender ethnicity and orientation. Children as always are there if you're doing this job you love kids

Cons

Most sites do not offer a set consistent schedule, using rotating shifts. The lack of staffing and support will force staff to also never be able to plan things such as break time. Rigid with sticking only to curriculum from Company book even on days when severely understaffed. Even if you are hired specifically for a particular classroom where you are most familiar and best skilled to work, they will often push you into things such as infant or toddler even if you have physical limitations such as back, bending or carpal tunnel. Very inflexible about your PTO if it doesn't fit in
