Pros
Booz Allen Hamilton at the Aberdeen office excels at promoting inter team collaboration. No one person is expected to solve a clients problem alone. A culture of camaraderie is created by the leadership through many opportunities (brown bag lunches on both work and personal issues, corporate sponsored social outings, etc) with the end result is a workplace conducive (and comfortable) to seek assistance from others. The compensation package is excellent(salary, benefits, paid time off, etc). Booz Allen Hamilton recognizes that its employees are its products. Opportunities to telecommute abound allowing for an excellent work-life balance (assuming an individuals project allows). Promotions are merit based and governed by defined standards with ample opportunity for online, classroom, and other educational venues to learn and master the skills necessary for promotion.
Cons
Working for Booz Allen now that we are strictly a contractor to governments, most work days follow a typical nine to five but when projects are due management expects each employee to put in the time necessary to complete task. This may lead to long days but the flexible working schedule more than compensates. Each person is required to bill a certain number of hours per period. If you work several long days going beyond the typical eighth to nine hour day management will not frown upon you taking a half day. So long as the work is done to the highest of standards.
