Pros
Great leadership, able to attract best & brightest, fun to work for company where expenses are never an issue, colleagues are motivated, driven, smart and generally collaborative. Company is transparent and town halls are frequent, informative and delivered by super talented leaders. Salary and bonus are very generous.
Cons
Can be bureaucratic and political. Career opportunities are limited in non-NY locations. Company tolerates employees who behave badly and/or are terrible managers as long as they execute against objectives. Tech leadership is largely "home-grown" which means they lack perspective on how other world-class companies evolve technology and make technology decisions (e.g. build vs. buy decisions, breakdown silo mentality). Focus on talent mobility and stretch opportunities rings a little hollow. Size and scale make it hard to innovate.
