Pros
Front line teams and first line management are knowledgeable and capable. The clear mandate to help sustain and make life better for our patients is a solidifying and fortifying goal. Good growth and opportunity for those with a keen eye to advance as reorganizations take place.. Profitable company with a need for good critical thinking management.
Cons
It is frustrating that posturing and politics are foremost in middle to upper management in this survivalist culture. If you like to "get things done" you will not be happy. Much outsourcing of engineering results in the loss of product knowledge and support systems. Senior management has had recent changes that result in the past CFO running a significant portion of the devices franchise. The financial mentality of reducing costs without understanding the benefits of those investments to long term growth, means that running "lean" is starving the children who need to keep this family growing and healthy.. Education and travel cuts (crucial to employee health) results in increased incestuous thinking and stunted management attitudes of self worth and importance of protecting projects with faulty foundations.
