Pros

Store team are excellent Stores- Shop Floor- are great and we should be able to be proud of them Some level of autonomy for trading

Cons

No training Expected to know everything straight away Expected to work days off and extra hours for free to cover lack of resource Constant fear and threat of being sacked- especially if you have under two years service. "Mystery Shopper" visits. These aren't mystery shopper at all, you generally know they're coming and they don't act as a shopper. Paid store manager salaries to drive round in a company car to take photos of your store. Their scores don't even count towards you score metrics anyway. Company don't work together so you end up with more stock than you can hold leading you to be *Gulp* "Outside". Which means stood in the freezing cold, with wet stock and no support from the company. Constant gut wrenching anxiety because of the constant threats if you accidentally miss something. No career progression. Constant WhatsApp messages 24/7 No GDPR, even rotas with your full name are sent out to whole groups. No password protection on emails and no individual accounts on email even for Store Managers. Punished for good sales if it means there's a gap left on a shelf.
