Pros

Good package with employee benefits but they’ll use this as a reason to not pay you more.

Cons

Fraud investigators are paid the same as claims handlers, and in some cases even less, despite being responsible for saving the company millions each year. The complexity of the work, the level of scrutiny required, and the expertise needed to identify and defend against fraudulent claims simply aren’t acknowledged. Experience is treated as disposable: if you raise concerns about pay, you’re told to “move on,” even though fraud investigation depends on experience. There are no progression opportunities for those on the lowest grade, meaning the only way to advance is to leave the fraud team entirely. Unsurprisingly, this is exactly why the organisation keeps losing its most skilled investigators. Senior leadership doesn’t understand the role well enough to appreciate why experience is vital. It’s the seasoned investigators who know the patterns, the behaviours, and the red flags that protect the business from significant losses. Yet the company refuses to pay them at the level their work warrants (Grade C) and in doing so, they drive away the very people who safeguard the organisation’s financial integrity.
