Pros

I worked here for over 4 years and had some really good times . Had some great challenges to solve and wonderful colleagues to work with . While they were a public company , they used to pay Engineers quite well (350k for senior engineers and 500k for principal was possible)

Cons

Went from 5 stars to 1 star after TB takeover(I had put a 5 star review about 2 years back). Was an amazing people friendly company before the takeover. Private Equity bought Anaplan at a premium rate when the market was hot and now they want to reduce costs aggressively (Similar to Elon musk's Twitter play). Almost half of engineering was let go with pathetic severance(1 week per year of service) and significant outsourcing . Come here only if you have no other choice. You are not going to learn anything from a tech standpoint because now they only care about keeping the lights on for the platform and not investing in new areas. The new compensation philosophy is a joke and you almost will not get equity anymore(You might but that equity is fairly useless)- so overall comps will significantly reduce. You could very well go work for a bank and make the same money doing 9-5 than working at this toxic hellhole. Absolutely toxic leadership and zero empathy

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
