Pros
Realistic evaluation numbers make it possible to effectively negotiate settlements
Cons
I've never been more micromanaged in my life. Every single number is thrown at you constantly. Additionally, it is very difficult to focus on the aspects of your job that are aggressively tracked such as closures because you are so hyper involved in all aspects of the claim. Most casualty departments are not involved in things like subrogation and damages. However, at Allstate you are constantly pulled into those aspects of the claim. Additionally, the field representatives are not especially involved and you are constantly fielding calls from shops which can lead you down a real rabbit hole and take you away from things like completing evaluations and negotiation calls, which are the aspects of the job that your success is contingent on.
