Pros

If you enjoy mental and emotional abuse, this is the position for you!

Cons

This entire position is a lie. They lie to get you in the door. They lie about expectations. They will lie and tell you the sky is purple just to trap you in this position! You’re constantly being micromanaged by people who have no idea what they’re doing! They will literally make you sit on zoom calls with them all day but expect you to produce outrageous numbers! When you’re not on a zoom call they’re calling, texting and emailing you non stop trying to see what you’re doing! The rules and expectations change CONSTANTLY. Every single day they’re pulling new things out of their rear ends whether it makes sense or not! They tell you that you have pto but they will decline it when you try to use it! They will pat you on the back one day and then tell you that you’re not doing good enough the very next. Constant threats! They constantly threaten to fire you even if you hit the goal they put in place for you. They don’t expect you to take lunch, a restroom break or a day off. My manager kept calling and texting me to “get on right now” after I told her I was taking a lunch. Left voicemails threatening me and then sent an email threatening me. Also told me more than once to work on weekends even though I’m scheduled to be off weekends. They constantly yell at you to multi line renters, pups and condos but you don’t get paid for any of them… but Allstate still collects money for policies. You won’t make commission unless you hit an outrageous number of policies and even if you hit this they are paying out less than $50 per policy. The commission is pocket change. They have contests where they promise something like a gift card to Amazon but then turn around and give you “business builder credits” instead (pretty much credit to purchase something from the Allstate website like pens or something). They want you to discuss your feelings and then immediately make you uncomfortable. They will ask you over and over how you’re feeling and if you say anything other than great they will single you out. If you tell them something makes you feel uncomfortable be prepared for them to have you do more of it, not to help you but to show you your place. They want bobble heads! If you say anything they don’t like they will say you’re challenging them and then boom, you’re now sitting in a zoom call with your manager listening to more threats! They do not pay you for holidays! They ball your sick leave and your pto together and do not tell you! Forget everything you learned in training, the managers will tell you to do the opposite! Including running someone’s credit without their permission or without even talking to them! The managers have no problem telling you to do underhanded things just so they look good when their team is producing. It is 100% outside sales, no matter what they say. They will send you crappy leads, most with disconnected numbers. The live transfers are a joke. Multiple times I’ve had someone transferred to me in another state. The other ones were straight up rejected. They constantly quiz you but tell you it’s a survey. If you don’t complete the “survey” they keep emailing you. I’ve even been emailed by one of the higher ups about completing these “surveys”.

Pros

Work from home There are some school programs paid at 100%

Cons

- I haven't been micromanage this bad since working in a call center!!! - the tools you use to do your job feels like micromanagement. Its very slow moving as well. Every thing takes so long to load while you're trying to speed through your work. - you will receive an email about every single little thing you did wrong - you will not receive praise for anything - you will need to protect yourself by maintaining documentation of what was asked of you, because it will be later explained that it doesn't matter what was said, you should have researched it yourself (even when you're brand new). - when they are wronf about a reprimand they just gave you, don't expect a reply or an apology - they will make sudden changes that severely impacts your job at a moments notice and wonder why you are behind - I was advised a manageable workload is 20-30 claims. My whole team had 90+ claims. - The turn over rate is exceptionally high. Over the course of a year I started 7 people quit within. 3 additional people were fired. - you're going to beg for help and they aren't going to help you, and they are going to tell you that YOU are the problem. - currently, all the hires are being shielded from the hot mess. They are trying to change things by pushing all the people who suffered through the mess they created to put a positive spin on the job and I guess preserve moral. - the job itself wouldnt be difficult (because the work is relatively easy), but its VERY disorganized. You will feel like you work in a call center, but this time, you have to return voicemails, emails and text messages. - 2nd worse job experience in my entire life - AND THE PAY IS BELOW INDUSTTY STANDARDS!!! There are no bonuses.
