Pros

Decent entry level job right out of college. Good initial training program. Can make a lot of money if you’re single and don’t want to have a life outside work.

Cons

Mostly working with millennials. Very fast paced environment. If you have a family and kids this job is not for you. Recruiters are stuck at a desk all day but managers can work from home pretty much whenever they want. In order to hit expected goals you will need to work 7 am - 6 pm every day. You will get scolded for trying to leave the office at 5 pm. They will tell you the entry level recruiter jobs are open due to “growth” but it’s almost always turnover related. Either someone quit because it’s too stressful or got fired for not hitting unrealistic metrics. If you start here you are most likely working for a newly promoted manager on the fast track to sales with zero, ZERO management experience and no training how to lead a team. Or you are working with a manager who has been with the company 5-10+ years who is stuck in their ways because they’ve tasted success and want to go on a free trip to Cancun every year from your hard work. They give you a lot of vacation but it’s hard to get approval to take time off. You will get questioned as to why you need off and you aren’t staying in the office to get starts for clients. 401k match is terrible, they get away from this by promoting all the potential sales bonuses and money you COULD make. In reality only the top 3-5% of the company will get these bonuses. Can be very unprofessional and very unethical business practices at times to push candidates in the door any way possible. Fees are outrageously high and don’t help save clients money by using us so they go elsewhere for cheaper.

Pros

Great people, great training, great entry level opportunity to get into recruiting and sales. If you are successful you will make more here than about anywhere else. Performing Recruiters are making $55k-$75k. Great Recruiters are making $100k+. Every large office has salespeople making $200k-$400k. Culture is 100% committed and generally cool type-A's you would want to have a beer with. The skills, drive, and sense of urgency you learn at Aerotek serve you well anywhere you may go later.

Cons

If you are just looking for a low-commitment 8-5 job while posting on social media about where you are partying that night...you will not like Aerotek. Success requires an all in approach both in work ethic and active support of the culture. That is not for everyone. There are Political Science grads 3 years out of college making $200k+, but there is a price to be paid. All the tough work comes first. If you are not up for the level of work and commitment, Aerotek is not for you. If you are, none of this is really a "con" As far a real cons go, the benefits are only OK, and finding work/life balance is pretty difficult.
