Pros
Most of the employees are union and the union bargains for fair wages and benefits. These are very high in comparison to other employers in our area.
Cons
You are a number on a piece of paper, a productivity level. If the employees meet their objectives, the company changes the objectives to make them difficult to attain without cheating on your numbers a little. Higher level management does not listen to, or ask the field technicians about what is really needed or desired by the customers they come into contact with. There is very little recognition for achievement or customer commendations. Employee morale is not very high in any area except wages and benefits which the union attains for them, the company does not give them voluntarily. Job satisfaction, or work/life balance satisfaction is low. Most managers play favorites among employees, they simply cannot do it monetarily as the union scale guarantees that everyone is treated eaqually in that respect. They can however do it by work assignments, or in other ways.
