Pros
Good pay, good benefits - golden handcuffs
Cons
Leadership lies to everyone L3 and below. Politics are toxic but necessary to survival. Promotion & comp is almost entirely dictated by likeability, nepotism, and optics. Constant layoffs of older employees & management makes any young, talented, ambitious employee a huge target - my last 3 managers have all tried to bury me because they perceived me as a threat. Management & culture is stuck in 1995 - ruling through fear and intellectually lazy/does not embrace new technology. I've been literally told that I'm too good at my job and innovative methods and I can't implement them because nobody else is capable...so I have to do easily automatable work manually, taking hours and needlessly frustrating processes. Work hours are brutal if you're "on the radar" because they're literally tracking hours - so if you have to work 60 hours one week for a critical deliverable you can't make it up the next week by only working 30 hours (you don't get any credit past 12 hours in the office...and no credit for working at home on the weekends). Believe me, if you're competent you'll simultaneously be doing all the work AND getting none of the credit. RTO 5 days a week even though commutes for the majority of homeowners is 1 hour +.
