Pros

The location may work for majority of the people who work here, as they don't have to cross the bridge.

Cons

Everything apart from that is a Con. A few listed below: - If you are looking for an organization which doesn't have micromanagement, this is not the place for you. Everyone wants to poke their noses in your business and make your work life difficult. - This place is the worst I've seen, when it comes to top heavy organizations. Old discarded/non-functional dinosaurs from Telus, come here and become kings. They feel they are untouchable and their actions have no consequences. And that actually, unfortunately is true. During my time there, I noticed sexual exploitation of female staff to employees being threatened to be fired if they don't agree with them, to whatever you could imagine at a 3rd world employer. - Middle management is slightly competent, but needs to get rid of a few who are poisoning the cesspool even more. - I can't get into any specifics of my department, but you would imagine the corporate office is better than field, then you are wrong. It's horrible. I feel bad for some capable people who are just stuck there. - Anyone who can find another job is stuck there because of one personal issue or another. Others, are mediocre at best and are lucky to have a job. - Systems and processes suck! Worst than a startup. - No development or growth for employees and team equity is super skewed. - Drama all day long. Where the managers' favorites enjoy their day and the work horses run the departments. - The incompetent managers and leadership think they are so powerful, they actually don't greet people as they go about. They think you are too junior to deserve respect.

Long commute for me, but worth it Quickly changing industry, so AFL makes changes to stay up on current customer demands - not a negative con, just something to keep up with
