Pros
Before the IPO announcement, the atmosphere was exciting and motivating. There were large scale events, epic parties, motivational speeches, everything you imagine from a start-up/scale-up company with lots of investor money that hypes their employees up so they'll work harder and longer hours. And people were working extremely hard. There was lots of growth, lots of opportunity, fun colleagues, a great environment to learn. I would have given the company 4 stars then. And then the IPO fell apart. Read the reviews on Glassdoor over the years, you'll see it coming. Quoting previews reviews: "You're asked to lie about the product and upsell features that don't exist" (from sales) "Fraudulent accounting practices" (from accounting) "Was in a difficult position of being told not to share certain things with CEO he should have known" "constant product issues and delays" "We promote ourselves really well thanks to Marketing" After the IPO announcement, the culture changed. There was no more money for raises (2% in 2.5 years), no more events, only attempts to sell products that couldn't be delivered within 6 months (some took 2+ years) People started quitting and were asked to keep quiet. The culture became very hush-hush. Lots of rumors about who was leaving or who said what. Then mass layoffs came. Management promised not to lay any more people off. Then more people were laid off. Also, many of us had also been pressured into signing an additional contract (after we had been there a while) that extended our notice period. Therefore we couldn't leave quickly when we got a new job offer, costing us thousands of euros. If you're looking for a challenge and like the thrill of working in a sink or swim environment with lots of whispering, this is a great place to be. If you want job security, this isn't it.
Cons
Quoting from other reviews: POLITICS "All decision made at top are hush hush and you only come know it after a few months and then it impacts your life" "managers say great things about other managers in front of them, but behind their backs they are trying to play dirty politics and say really bad things to top managers for their own gain" "Gaslighting on an organisational scale" STABILITY " STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE AN EXPAT as they dont care about your visa status and will cut your contract before it becomes indefinite" "The company is not making money and is at a huge loss." DIVERSITY "Not a good place for minorities as the whole top mgmt is senior men from 1 background" "The management asked whether I have partner and what gender my parther (sic) has" HR "company pushes it's fresh starters to provide quick positive feedback" "I was accused by an HR employee of writing a certain glassdoor review" "The work load in 5 times more than they will tell you during interviews"
